01
Damage Thresholds
After an attack beats the target’s DC, resolve its Damage. If the Damage is below the Minor Threshold, the target loses 1 HP. If the Damage meets or exceeds the Minor Threshold but is below the Major Threshold, the target loses 2 HP. If the Damage meets or exceeds the Major Threshold, the target loses 3 HP. If a non-Centrepiece attack meets or exceeds double the target’s Major Threshold, it still deals 3 HP and triggers Devastating Wounds. If an attack made by a Centrepiece meets or exceeds double the target’s Major Threshold, it deals 4 HP and also triggers Devastating Wounds.
02
Devastating Wounds
Devastating Wounds triggers whenever an attack meets or exceeds double the target’s Major Threshold. After resolving the attack’s HP loss, the target must immediately make a Battle Shock test with Disadvantage. A non-Centrepiece attack deals the normal 3 HP for reaching the Major Threshold; a Centrepiece attack deals 4 HP instead.
03
Direct Damage
Direct Damage bypasses Minor and Major Damage Thresholds entirely. When a unit suffers Direct Damage, it loses the stated amount of HP immediately.
Direct Damage cannot be reduced, prevented or modified by any means unless a rule specifically states that it interacts with Direct Damage.
04
Deadly Demise X
When a model with Deadly Demise X is destroyed, roll 2d12 as a Focus Die and Panic Die. If Panic is higher than Focus, Deadly Demise triggers and every unit within 6" suffers Xd12 Damage. No Skill Roll or DC test is made for this Damage. Resolve it as normal Damage against Minor and Major Thresholds; it is not Direct Damage. On any other result, there is no effect.
05
Healing
When a unit restores HP, increase its current HP by the amount restored, up to its starting HP. Healing cannot return destroyed models unless a rule explicitly states otherwise.
06
Returning Destroyed Models
If a rule allows healing to return destroyed models, restore HP normally. As the unit’s HP is restored, return destroyed models when the unit once again has enough HP to support them. Returned models do not need to be restored to full HP separately.
